Anthony M.’s Story

At just 21 years old, Anthony Montoya has already built a legacy of resilience, growth, and connection. Anthony joined Community Advantage of Colorado in 2022, stepping into adulthood with courage and hope. At the age of 18, he was welcomed into the home of Geras Shoukulu, a Host Home Provider whose warmth and dedication transformed Anthony’s life.
From the beginning, Geras didn’t just offer Anthony a place to live – he offered him a family. In this nurturing environment, Anthony flourished. He achieved a major milestone by graduating high school, a testament to his determination and the support surrounding him. He then took another bold step into independence by starting part-time work, gaining valuable experience and confidence.
Anthony’s days are filled with purpose. He routinely attends a day program, where he’s made lasting friendships and become an active, engaged member of his community. Through these experiences, Anthony has grown not only in skills but in spirit – his story is one of inclusion, empowerment, and belonging.
Anthony’s journey reminds us that with the right support, every individual can thrive. His legacy is one of quiet strength, meaningful progress, and the power of human connection. He is not just part of a program – he is part of a family, a community, and a future filled with promise.
