Edmond and Shoshanna’s Story
Edmond and Shoshanna began dating in 2019. They met while working together at CSS community day program in the production area. Although they worked on separate production tasks in different areas of the building, they would sit together on breaks every day.
After working together for a few years, Edmond was transferred to another production building part-time and started a part-time job at Casey’s General Store. At that point, Edmond and Shoshanna did not get to see each other very often since they worked in separate locations and lived with different residential providers. Not seeing each other every day was a difficult adjustment for the two. Edmond often said how much he missed his “sweetie.”
With assistance from Jody G., the CSS community day program QIDP, Edmond and Shoshanna began having date nights. They were both so happy to be able to spend special time with just each other. One of their favorite places to go is Pinky’s on Lake Sara to grab dinner and take a walk along the beach.
They also enjoy eating at Fujiyama because they love to sit at the hibachi grill and watch the flames while the chef cooks their food. Other places they enjoy going include Gabby Goat, Gopher’s Grill, and Old Mac’s for pizza. Edmond and Shoshanna also enjoy movie night at Shoshanna’s home and swimming at Workman’s.
Edmond was recently moved back to the same production building where Shoshanna works for three days a week. Although they are now able to spend time with each other during work hours, they continue to enjoy special date nights.
A few months ago, while on break at the community day program, Shoshanna told Edmond she wanted to get married. Soon after, Edmond asked Jody to assist him in selecting an engagement ring, guiding him through the purchase of the ring, and setting up a date at Homewood Grill for him and his “sweetie.” Edmond took a huge step and officially proposed to Shoshanna.
Edmond and Shoshanna invited all of their family and friends to attend their commitment ceremony held at their favorite Lake Sara date spot on September 4, 2025. Everyone enjoyed a meal and danced the afternoon away as they celebrated Edmond and Shoshanna on their very special day. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Casey, IL, dining at Richard’s Farm and taking in all of the Guinness World Record supersized structures and items throughout town.
In the future, Edmond and Shoshanna would love to take a vacation and stay on the oceanfront so they can enjoy taking walks along the beach together. They dream of one day living in the same CILA home or their own apartment. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Edmond and Shoshanna!
