Michael’s Story

March 16, 2026 Filed under: Uncategorized

Michael Montano currently lives in one of our specialty homes in Arizona, and his journey over the past several months is something we are incredibly proud to share.

Transitions can be difficult for anyone, and for Michael, the move to ResCare was a big change. It took four months of patience, encouragement, and trust-building before he was ready to fully transition into his new home. Like many people facing something unfamiliar, Michael was understandably nervous – a new environment, a new roommate, and new people in his life.

But once Michael made that step, something remarkable began to happen. Since moving in, Michael has been doing outstanding. The progress he has made in such a short period of time has been inspiring to everyone around him. What once felt uncertain has now become a place where he feels comfortable and supported.

One of the most heartwarming parts of Michael’s journey is the friendship he has developed with his peer in the home. What started as two individuals learning to share a space has grown into a genuine bond. They spend time together, laugh together, and support one another in ways that make the house truly feel like home.

Michael has also made incredible strides personally. Many of the challenges he faced daily have significantly decreased or are no longer present. He is communicating more openly with others, expressing himself, and engaging with the people around him in ways that show growing confidence.

Another exciting change is how much Michael enjoys being outside and participating in the community. Whether it’s spending time outdoors, exploring activities, or simply being part of the world around him, these moments represent huge milestones for him.

These may seem like small steps to some – but to those who know Michael’s journey, they are giant leaps forward. Stories like Michael’s remind us why the work we do matters. With the right support, patience, and belief in someone’s potential, incredible growth can happen.

Today, we celebrate Michael – his courage, his progress, and the bright path ahead of him. We are honored to be part of his journey and so proud of everything he continues to accomplish.
