Kaliya’s Story
Kaliya Grim has transformed her life by transitioning from a facility where she had two-on-one staffing due to severe SIB, aggression, and property destruction, which resulted in limited community engagement. She is now living in a waiver setting with two roommates. Through her hard work and support from her staff, she has navigated numerous challenges and conquered her goals.
Against all odds, Kaliya now attends a day program four days per week, where she has formed meaningful friendships with members of the residential community. She has celebrated birthdays and participated in various community events alongside her current services from ResCare Community Living.
One of her most significant accomplishments to date is attending Camp Red Cedar. She engaged with hundreds of fellow campers, acquired new skills, and participated in activities such as archery. Kaliya’s family and her ResCare Staff are filled with joy over her achievements and eagerly anticipate her continued growth and success. Kaliya is living her best life with the services she is receiving from ResCare Community Living in Fort Wayne, IN!
