Michael and Joey’s Story
Michael and Joey White were inseparable from childhood, sharing a bond that was unbreakable. But life took an unexpected turn when their family caregiver could no longer care for them, and the brothers were placed into different residential programs. Separated for the first time, they faced new challenges, but their love and determination never wavered.
Despite no longer living together, Michael and Joey remained hopeful and stayed connected. Agency staff recognized their special bond and worked tirelessly to bring them back together. Finally, through persistence and collaboration, they were reunited in the same waiver program.
Living together once more, Michael and Joey thrived like never before. They supported each other through thick and thin, always watching out for one another. Known as “the brothers” by everyone in their program, they are a shining example of how love and determination can overcome any obstacle.
