Texas Direct Support Provider Jocelyn Coleman Gives Back on MLK Day of Service
In Arlington, Texas, more than 500 volunteers braved the bitter cold to support the annual Zeb Strong MLK Day of Service, lending a hand to those in need, and among them was DSP Jocelyn Coleman.
Featured in The Dallas Morning News, Jocelyn spent the day packaging food and sorting donated clothing at Mission Arlington and Arlington Charities before joining others to distribute supplies across the city. With every crate and bag, she kept the spirit of Dr. King’s work at the forefront. “It’s always important to do good work,” Jocelyn said. “It’s especially important today.”
Her words capture the essence of the day: service is not just about meeting needs, but about honoring the ideals of justice, dignity, and community that Dr. King stood for.
We are proud of Jocelyn’s commitment to giving back, both in her daily work supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in moments like these when she chooses to extend her impact to the broader community.
